Laundry and Dry Cleaning App Development

As a laundry app development company we build the ordering app, the driver's route and the screens your plant runs on. Laundry is two journeys rather than one: you collect on Tuesday, you return on Thursday, and the customer wants to know where their shirts are in between. Most first releases go live in about 30 days.

Why own it

The wash is the easy part.

Anybody can clean a shirt. What loses a customer is a collection that did not happen, a bag that came back with one item missing, and nobody able to say where it went. An app is worth building when it fixes those three, and not before.

  • Collections that happen

A booked slot with a route behind it, and a driver who knows the door code.

  • Every item accounted for

What went in, what came back, and a record when the two disagree.

  • Customers who repeat weekly

A standing collection is a subscription by another name, and laundry is one of the few services people genuinely want on repeat.

  • Your own customers

Their addresses, preferences and history in your system rather than a marketplace's.

What you get

Four screens, and a bag that has to be findable in all of them.

On demand laundry app development is an ordering app, a driver doing two rounds, and a plant that has to know whose shirts these are. Pick one to see what goes into it.

App 01 of 04

Customer app

Used on a Sunday evening by somebody with a full basket. Booking has to take under a minute, and the app has to answer where my clothes are without them asking.

  • Pickup and return slotsChoose both at the time of booking, because the return is the half people care about.
  • What you are sendingA wash and fold bag, or itemised shirts and suits, priced either way.
  • Order status through the washCollected, sorted, washing, ready, out for return. Not a van on a map for two days.
  • Care preferencesStarch, no tumble dry, hypoallergenic detergent, saved once and applied every time.
  • Standing collectionsThe same slot every week, skipped or paused when they go away.
  • Payment when the price is knownPre-authorised at booking and taken once the bag is weighed or counted.
How it works

From a full basket to a folded pile.

Six steps across two or three days. Most laundry apps get the first two right and lose the customer somewhere in the middle three.

  1. 01

    Customer

    They book both ends

Pickup on Tuesday evening, return on Thursday evening, chosen together rather than one at a time.

  2. 02

    Driver

    A driver collects

Bag labelled at the door, weighed if you price by weight, and the order opened against that code.

  3. 03

    Your team

    It is counted in

Scanned at the plant, items counted, anything already stained or damaged photographed and noted.

  4. 04

    Your system

    The customer sees it move

Sorted, washing, pressed, ready. Four notifications across two days, which is what stops them phoning.

  5. 05

    Your team

    It goes back out

Packed against the same code and loaded onto the afternoon round.

  6. 06

    Your system

    Next week is already booked

A standing collection means the second order needs no decision at all.

Features

Laundry service app development, feature by feature.

Your costed plan names which of these are in the first release. The ones that track an order through the plant are rarely worth deferring, because they are what stops the phone ringing.

  • Pickup and delivery schedulingBoth ends booked at once, into windows with real driver capacity behind them.
  • Garment and service catalogueWash and fold, dry cleaning, ironing, curtains, shoes. Each with its own turnaround and its own price.
  • Per-item and per-kilo pricingCounted at intake or weighed at the door, with the customer told the total before it is charged.
  • Order status through the washCollected, sorted, washing, ready, out for return. The single feature that most reduces support calls.
  • Bag and garment trackingA code on the bag, scanned at each stage, so a missing item can be traced to where it stopped.
  • Route planning for two roundsCollections and returns sequenced together, because they are usually the same streets twice a day.
  • Store and plant managementShops that collect and a plant that washes, with work and capacity visible across both.
  • Care preferencesSaved per customer and applied to every order, which is what separates a service from a machine.
  • Subscriptions and standing ordersThe same slot every week, paused for holidays. Laundry is one of the few services people want on repeat.
  • Exceptions and claimsStains that will not lift, damage found at intake and items reported missing, each with a record and a customer message.
  • History and remindersEvery past order kept and reorderable, with a nudge before the week they usually send. Most laundry orders are a repeat of the last one.
  • Loyalty points and weekly rewardsPoints on completed orders and weekly promotional campaigns, configured in the admin rather than coded.
Ways to earn

Ways a laundry app earns.

Most operators run two or three of these at once. The admin holds every rate.

  • Per kiloWash and fold priced by weight, which is the simplest thing to quote and to book.
  • Per itemShirts, suits and coats priced individually, counted at intake.
  • Weekly subscriptionsA monthly plan with a standing collection, which is where the margin actually is.
  • Express turnaroundSame day or next day at a premium, using capacity you already have.
  • Collection feesBy zone or by distance, or free above a minimum order.
  • Business accountsHotels, restaurants and salons on contract, invoiced monthly rather than per bag.

Example month, one household

A weekly collection and two dry cleaning items

4 × weekly wash and fold, $18.50
$74.00
2 × dry cleaning items, $7.20
$14.40
1 × express turnaround
$6.00
Labour, detergent and driving
−$31.60
Contribution, one household$62.80

The number that matters is how many households are on a standing collection, because a booked route is a cheap route. Figures are an example, and your own costs decide it.

Who it is for

Who we build laundry apps for.

Tell us whether you wash it yourself and how far you collect, and the app is designed around that rather than around a template.

  • High street laundrettes

A shop, a regular trade, and customers who would send more if they did not have to carry it.

    Built to fit

    • Collection and return inside a few streets
    • Your existing price list, exactly as it is on the wall
    • One driver's round rather than a fleet
  • Dry cleaners

Itemised work where the count and the condition of each garment matter.

    Built to fit

    • Per-item intake with condition noted and photographed
    • Turnaround times that differ by garment
    • Claims handled with a record rather than a conversation
  • On demand laundry startups

No shop at all, collecting in a city and washing at a partner plant.

    Built to fit

    • Slots and zones sized to the drivers you have
    • Partner plants with work routed and settled per order
    • Subscriptions from the first release, because that is the model
  • Multi-branch chains

Several shops collecting and one plant doing the work.

    Built to fit

    • Shops that take orders and a plant that processes them
    • Capacity visible across every branch
    • Group reporting and per-branch pricing
  • Hotels, gyms and restaurants

Contract linen rather than household washing, on schedules rather than bookings.

    Built to fit

    • Standing schedules with agreed volumes
    • Account pricing, statements and monthly invoicing
    • Linen counts reconciled on every exchange
  • Adding laundry to a delivery business

You already collect and deliver, and laundry fills the quiet part of the day.

    Built to fit

    • A second journey type on the drivers you already run

    • One customer account across both services

We publish to the App Store and Google Play, then keep the apps fixed, current and running.

Most first releases go live in about 30 days. Larger apps take longer, and your costed plan fixes the scope and the exact date.

What goes live first, and what follows.

Your costed plan splits the build into releases with their own fixed prices and dates. The first one has to take a booking and get a bag back to the right door.

  1. About 30 days

    First release

    • Booking with pickup and return slots
    • Catalogue and pricing, per item or per kilo
    • Driver app with labelling and proof
    • Admin: orders, customers, slots, prices
  2. After launch

    Second release

    • Plant screens and stage-by-stage scanning
    • Subscriptions and standing collections
    • Route planning across both rounds
    • Exceptions, claims and care preferences
  3. When you need it

    As you grow

    • More branches, zones and partner plants
    • Business accounts and invoicing
    • Express and same-day turnaround
    • Performance work as order volume climbs
Store launch

We publish your apps. It is in the price.

Every build ends with your apps live on the App Store and Google Play. Submission is part of the job, never an extra: we prepare everything, handle the review and fix whatever the stores ask for.

Included in every build

  • Store listings. Name, description, keywords, screenshots and preview images.
  • Privacy and compliance. Privacy details, data forms and content ratings each store requires.
  • Signed release builds. Built, signed and uploaded for iOS and Android.
  • Review and approval. We answer the reviewers and resubmit if anything is flagged.
  • Updates after launch. Every new version goes through the same process.

The one cost that is yours

Apple and Google charge for a developer account. It is opened in your company's name, so the apps and their listings always belong to you.

Price

What sets the price.

There is no price list, because no two laundries work the same way. Your fixed price comes from the scope in your costed plan.

Get your fixed price
  • How many apps

Customer, driver, plant and admin, or fewer to start.

  • How you price

Per kilo is quick. Per item, per service and express rates together are not.

  • Tracking depth

Order level, or every garment scanned through every stage.

  • One site or several

Shops collecting into one plant is real work, and partner plants more again.

  • Subscriptions

Standing collections, pauses and prepaid bundles.

  • Design depth

A clean standard design, or a fully custom look.

Why the date holds

We have built these apps many times.

Your app is designed and built new for your business. What carries over is experience with the parts every collection business shares: slots, routes, drivers, payments and notifications. What laundry adds is custody. The garments are yours for two days and the software has to be able to say where they are and what condition they arrived in, because the day somebody reports a missing shirt is the day that answer is worth more than every other feature. None of that is learned on your budget, which is why the scope, the price and the date can be fixed.

See the apps we build
After launch

After launch, we stay.

A laundry app runs to a timetable. A collection round that does not load on a Tuesday morning is a day of orders gone.

  • Monitoring

Servers, payments and the flow of orders, watched around the clock, with the morning collection window treated as the hour that matters. A driver whose route fails to load at seven is a different problem from a website being slow at midnight.

  • Fixes

You tell us once and we take it from there. Every issue is logged, fixed, tested and released. Anything stopping a booking, a collection or a payment goes ahead of everything else.

  • Store updates

Apple and Google change their rules every year, and background location and camera permissions are the ones a driver app depends on. We test against each new version and handle the resubmissions before your drivers update their phones.

  • Prices and slots

Price lists change with the seasons and so does how much work you can take. Adding a service, changing a rate or opening another slot is done by your team in the admin, and we are here for the ones that need more.

  • New features

Plant scanning, subscriptions and route planning are usually second-release work. Each is scoped, priced and dated in writing before it starts, exactly like the first release.

  • Handover

The platform is yours and so is everything needed to run it. Your team gets the code, the accounts, the deployment process and written documentation, so you can carry on with us or bring in your own developers whenever you choose.

Clients

What our clients say.

Initially, I was hesitant to deal with them, believing their customer service would be poor. However, I was surprised. They act with great responsibility and professional efficiency. My regards to them.

Questions

Asked before most builds.

Not here? The costed plan answers the rest, for your app.

Your idea stays yours. We can sign an NDA before you share the details, and you hear from us within 24 hours.

How much does laundry app development cost?

It depends on how many of the four apps you need, how you price the work, how deeply orders are tracked through the plant and whether you run one site or several. You get a fixed price in a free costed plan before any work starts, and it does not move unless you change the scope.

How do I start an on-demand laundry business?

Decide first whether you wash it yourself or send it to a plant, because that changes the whole build. Then pick a radius small enough that one driver can do a morning of collections and an afternoon of returns in the same streets, since drive time is most of your cost. Price per kilo to start, because it is the easiest thing to quote and to book. The app follows those three decisions rather than the other way round.

What features does a laundry app need?

Booking with both a pickup and a return slot, a catalogue with per-item or per-kilo prices, a driver app that labels the bag at the door, order status through the wash, and payment taken once the price is known. Plant scanning, subscriptions and route planning matter enormously and usually sit in a second release.

How is the price settled when nobody knows the weight yet?

The card is pre-authorised when the order is booked and charged once the bag has been weighed at the door or counted at intake. The customer sees the final total and what it was based on before it is taken, which is the part that stops disputes rather than the pricing itself.

What happens when an item goes missing?

The bag carries a code from the doorstep and is scanned at every stage, so an item can be traced to the last point it was counted. Anything already stained or damaged is photographed at intake so there is a record from before you touched it. Claims are raised in the admin against the order rather than settled from memory, which protects both sides.

Can customers set a standing weekly collection?

Yes, and most of your margin will come from the ones who do. A standing collection books the same slot every week, can be paused for a holiday and needs no decision from the customer, which is what makes laundry a repeat business rather than an occasional one.

Can it handle dry cleaning as well as wash and fold?

Yes, and they usually need different treatment. Dry cleaning is counted and priced per item with condition noted, and often has a longer turnaround than a wash and fold bag collected the same morning. Both can sit in one order or be kept separate.

Do you publish the apps to the App Store and Google Play?

Yes, and it is included in your price. We prepare the listings, submit the apps and handle the review for both stores. The only cost that is yours is the store developer accounts, opened in your company's name.

Who owns the app and the customer data?

You do. The code is handed over with documentation, the cloud and payment accounts are in your company's name, and every customer, order and garment record sits somewhere you control.
