A home service marketplace is judged on one moment: a stranger arriving at somebody's front door, on time and qualified. Everything before it is matching, pricing and scheduling, and everything after it is payment, photos and a review. We build that, designed new for your trades and your cities by a team that has built service marketplaces many times. Most first releases go live in about 30 days.
Nothing is earned until somebody is at the door with the right tools, and the customer is happy they came. This is the path every job takes, and the part of the software carrying each step.

05
Finish

What our clients say.
I worked with AppKodes for a website and mobile app development project, and overall, I'm very satisfied with the results. Their team was responsive and flexible throughout the process, and they delivered a product that met my expectations both in design and functionality.

Inside the app
Everything a home service marketplace needs, from day one.
From the outside a home service app looks like a booking app with more categories in it. Underneath, it sends strangers into people's homes, prices work nobody has seen yet, and pays hundreds of independent providers every week.
This is the machinery we build into yours, shaped around your trades and how your market settles up. Each piece is designed and built new for you, by a team that has built service marketplaces many times.
Three ways to run itSome platforms take a booking and a commission. Others sell leads and phone calls to contractors, while some send out crews they employ themselves. The software is built around whichever you choose, and the other two stay possible later.
Matching on area, skill and timeA job only reaches providers who cover the postcode, do the trade and are free when it is needed. Distance, rating and response time decide the order. The customer still makes the final pick where you want them to, and the system never forces a match.
Fixed prices and quotesA tap replacement has a fixed price, while a bathroom refit needs somebody to look first. The app handles both: instant booking for the first kind, and quotes the customer compares for the second. Estimates that go quiet get followed up automatically, on whatever schedule you set for them.
Scheduling that cannot clashCustomers see only the slots a provider is really free to take, with travel time between jobs built in. Two bookings for the same afternoon never happen. Your team confirms, moves or reassigns jobs from a dispatch board, and everybody's calendar follows.
Payments and payoutsThe customer pays in the app when the job is done, or leaves a deposit for bigger work. The money splits between the provider and you, and payouts run on your schedule through a provider built for marketplaces. Cash never has to change hands at the front door, unless you decide that it should.
Leads and calls, done properlyIf you sell leads, every request is sorted by trade, job type, urgency and ZIP before it goes anywhere. Duplicates and spam are caught before a contractor is charged, and calls are tracked and recorded against their source. Contractors set their own budgets and caps, and dispute a bad lead for a credit.
Emergencies follow rulesA burst pipe at midnight is a very different job from a dripping tap sometime next week. Emergencies go to providers on call, at emergency rates, by rules you write in advance. Nothing about an urgent job is left to guesswork, and anything unusual goes straight to a person.
City and service pages that rankMost customers start with a search like plumber near me. A page per city and service is generated from your real coverage and providers, never duplicated text. Architecture, internal links and schema are built in, because retrofitting them later means rebuilding the site.

What you get along the way.
A plan before you commitThe scope, a fixed price and a launch date in writing, free, whether you go ahead or not.
A prototype in week oneYour screens in your brand, clickable, before a line of code is written.
A new build every weekThe app reaches your phone each week, so you watch it take shape instead of waiting for a reveal.
Both stores handledWe prepare the listings, submit the apps and answer the reviewers. Only the store account fees are yours.
A team that staysAfter launch we keep the apps fixed, current and running, and price new features the same way.
One trade, one city firstThe first release covers the trade and the area you know best, and the rest follow on the same system.
Providers on before launchYour first providers are imported, vetted and trained during the build, so day one has somebody to send.
Not here? The costed plan answers the rest, for your app.
Can it work like Urban Company, Thumbtack or TaskRabbit?
Yes, and customers will find it familiar. Booking, quotes, live tracking, payments and reviews all work the way people expect from the big platforms. The difference is that it is yours, with your trades, your cities and your commission or lead prices.
Should we take bookings, sell leads or run our own crews?
It depends on who owns the customer relationship you want. Bookings and commission suit a marketplace brand people return to. Leads and calls suit contractors who want work but not your app, and your own crews suit a company that controls quality itself. We build around one, and keep room for the others.
How do you match customers with the right provider?
By the postcode they cover, the trade they do and whether they are free when the job is needed. Distance, rating and response time then decide the order. The rules are yours to set, and the customer makes the final pick wherever you want them to.
How do providers get paid?
The customer pays in the app, and the money splits between the provider and you at that moment. Providers are paid on the schedule you choose, daily, weekly or after the job is signed off. A payment provider built for marketplaces holds the money and runs the checks, so you never do.
Can customers buy service plans?
Yes, and for trades like HVAC and cleaning they are the steadiest revenue you will have. A plan books visits on a schedule at a discount, charges automatically and covers every property on the account. Customers pause or change a plan themselves, without calling anybody.
How do lead fees and disputes work?
Contractors set a budget and a cap, and pay per qualified lead or tracked call. Duplicates and spam are filtered before anybody is charged. When a lead is bad anyway, the contractor disputes it with a reason, and your team credits it back or declines.
Do you check the providers?
Yes, before their first job and again when documents expire. Identity, trade licences and insurance are all checked, and then stored against the provider's profile. Arrival, departure and photos are logged on every visit, so there is a record if anything is ever questioned.
Will it work with Jobber or Housecall Pro?
Yes, where your providers already use them. Jobs, customers and their status sync both ways, so nobody types a booking in twice. Which tools your providers run is one of the first questions in your costed plan.
Is this a ready-made app?
No, and none of them ever is. Every app we build is designed and built new, for the one client who asked for it. We have built service marketplaces many times, which is what lets us fix the scope, price and launch date before we start.
How long does it take?
Most first releases go live in about 30 days, usually one trade in one city. Adding more trades, lead selling and several of the add-on modules takes a little longer. Your free costed plan fixes the scope and the exact launch date in writing, before you commit.
Which platforms do I get?
A customer app for iOS and Android, a provider app, a website with city and service pages, and a web admin panel. Some clients start with the website and the provider app, and add the customer app later.
Who owns the app and the data?
You own both of them, completely and from day one. The code sits in your own repository, the cloud accounts stand in your company's name, and the apps ship under your own developer accounts. Documentation gets written for a developer who never met us.
